Haverstraw Riverwide Arts and Village of Haverstraw Celebrate 10th Anniversary of Eats & Beats Food Crawl – This Sunday Sept 15, 2024!
Haverstraw, NY – Haverstraw Riverwide Arts and the Village of Haverstraw are excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Eats & Beats Food Crawl, a beloved local event that has become a highlight of the community’s cultural calendar. Scheduled for Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, this year’s event promises to be bigger than ever, with 23 restaurants, five local breweries, and three New York distilleries participating.
The Eats & Beats Food Crawl began in September 2014 with the goal of attracting visitors to Haverstraw’s downtown area, showcasing its diverse cuisine, and supporting the local economy. The inaugural event featured 14 restaurants and drew a crowd of 450 people. A decade later, it has evolved into a major attraction, with thousands of visitors coming from Rockland, Westchester, and beyond to experience the unique culinary offerings and live entertainment that make Haverstraw such a vibrant destination.
Expanded Entertainment Lineup
In celebration of the 10th anniversary, this year’s event will feature a dynamic lineup of live entertainment. Returning by popular demand is The Amish Outlaws, a rock band that captivated the crowd during last year’s event despite rainy weather. Joining them are rap artist Kool Dre, singer Brianna Knight, and Julie & Freddie’s Dancers, providing a mix of musical styles and performances that will set the stage for a lively and festive atmosphere.
A Growing Event
In 2022, the Eats & Beats Food Crawl saw approximately 5,000 visitors exploring the streets of downtown Haverstraw. Even though last year’s event was impacted by heavy rain, this year’s celebration is expected to draw an even larger crowd. With the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry now running on weekends, the event is more accessible than ever, and organizers are anticipating visitors from New York City, Connecticut, and other nearby regions.
