Circle Up

Our weekly poets circle, Circle Up, is happening every Thursday night from 6 PM to 7 PM at X House in Nyack. This week, I’m thinking on doing a performance/delivery workshop, but usually we do either writing or editing. If you want weekly emails or texts about that, let me know and I can add you to the proper list. If you can swing it, cost is $5, paid directly to the venue.

Figure Drawing

Starting January 9, 2024, the Nyack Art Collective will sponsor weekly Figure Drawing on Tuesdays, 6:15-9:15 pm at X House Nyack, 48 S. Franklin St., Nyack, @xhousenyack https://www.instagram.com/xhousenyack/
These sessions are open to the public. Artists must provide their own materials and may bring an easel if desired. Session is $15 per person, $13 for Nyack Art Collective members.

The eternal singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell is seen anew, portrayed through a witty and comprehensive exploration of anecdotes, quotes, and lyrics by Henry Alford, “the most graceful of humorists” (Vanity Fair) and a writer for The New Yorker.
Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Meet & Greet with Author Angela Brown

Angela Brown is the author of Olivia Strauss is Running Out of Time (Little A, 2024), which was a Zibby Owens Book Club Pick and a Women’s Fiction Pick in Amazon’s First Reads program. Her sophomore novel, Some Other Time, will be published by Little A in February 2025. In addition to her books, Angela’s writing has appeared in the New York Times, Real Simple, Lit Hub, Writer’s Digest, and many other publications. She holds an MFA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Angela lives in New Jersey with her husband and two young children, where she is currently at work on her next novel.

Classical Candlelight Concert with CreArtBox

This internationally acclaimed chamber ensemble presents an exciting program blending music and visual design, performed by candlelight in the beautiful setting of the Angel Nyack. Featuring works for piano quartet by Mozart and Mahler; Debussy’s Petite Suite and Dvorak’s magnificent American String Quartet, arranged for flute, violin, viola, cello and piano. The program also features Thousandth Orange, a contemporary work by Pulitzer Prize and Grammy winning composer Caroline Shaw.
