Sam Wedelich is the creator of the Chicken Little series and the illustrator of Bearplane! by Deborah Underwood, with more titles on the way this fall! She is also a cartoonist, illustrator, and installation designer. When she isn’t hunched over her art table trying to make something funny or beautiful, Sam enjoys gardening, cycling, and making music. She lives in Nyack with her family.

Writing Playshop For Children 8-12 Years Old

A four-week, Summer Writing Course for 8-12 year-olds, taught by Victoria Oltarsh, award-winning sci-fi, Middle-Grade author of The Boy and the Secret of the Stars, published lyricist, and lifelong playwriting and theater teacher. Victoria will guide children in how to create their own original story and begin a first draft of their book. We will explore settings, book categories, plot points, character development, how to write dialogue, and story arcs. (Meets July 8, 15, 22 and 29.)

Figure Drawing

Starting January 9, 2024, the Nyack Art Collective will sponsor weekly Figure Drawing on Tuesdays, 6:15-9:15 pm at X House Nyack, 48 S. Franklin St., Nyack, @xhousenyack https://www.instagram.com/xhousenyack/
These sessions are open to the public. Artists must provide their own materials and may bring an easel if desired. Session is $15 per person, $13 for Nyack Art Collective members.
