Wild Symphony: Dan Brown (Arts Rock)

From the joyous rhythms of the “Bouncing Kangaroo,” to the mysterious melodies of the “Wondrous Whale,” to the hair-raising harmonies of the “Brilliant Bat,” this is a very wild symphony indeed!
Narrator Didi Conn is a much-loved actress, best known for playing “Frenchy” in the hit movie Grease. This is an ArtsRock Milk and Cookies Playhouse performance for the whole family. Milk and Cookies are served after the show.

Perry Lawson Fine Art is pleased to present Hope is the Thing with Feathers, an exhibition featuring bird-themed artwork by Sharon Falk, Glenn Goldberg, Bryn Jayes, Jackie Shatz, Mckenna van Koppen, and Hanna von Goeler. The title is drawn from Emily Dickinson’s poem of the same name, which serves as a touchstone for the exhibition’s exploration of birds as symbols of hope and resilience. In times of uncertainty, they can remind us of the power of persistence and the possibility of flight beyond hardship. This exhibition pays homage to birds and all they symbolize, offering a space to reflect on hope as an ever-present force.
Gallery Hours: Friday-Sunday, 12-5pm, or by appointment.

Onstage at Elmwood: POTUS, Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive

Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack, NY presents  POTUS,  Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, written by Selina Fillinger, onstage from March 14 through April 5.

To hell with the Chief! Hail to the women in his administration! Praised by Variety as a “…delicious feminist farce [that is] irresistibly funny,” POTUS is a no-holds-barred raucous romp through the corridors of power.

POTUS is directed at Elmwood by Claudia Stefany and stars Amanda Bloom, Miran Robarts, Meg Sewell, Leslie F. Smithey, Madison Landau, Tonette Smith, and Dana Duff as the fierce and funny women who try to control the chaos.

POTUS opens March 14 and closes April 5, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm, with a captioned performance on Thursday April 3 at 8 pm.

Throughout the run of the show, Elmwood’s lobby gallery exhibits the work of the artists of Nyack Art Collective, with a pre-show gallery reception starting at 6:30 pm on opening night Friday, March 14 to meet the artists and enjoy complimentary wine and cheese from local gourmet shop, Scott and Joe.
